Dr. Scott Black, MD, is a board certified Family Physician and holds a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine. Dr. Black has a Master's degree in Exercise Physiology and holds a certificate in Sports Nutrition. His primary interests involve disease prevention, wellness, and addressing the health and well-being of Kentuckians through the development of highly effective primary care clinicians. Currently, he serves as the Program Director for the University of Kentucky Physician Assistant Studies Program, Medical Director for the UK Sports Medicine Research Institute, and a member of the Active Women’s Health Initiative Advisory Board. Dr. Black is an advocate for an active lifestyle and leads by example as an avid runner who has completed many races ranging from 5ks to 100k ultramarathons. In his own words, he is passionate about women’s health because, “I'm the father of a daughter, the husband of a wife, and the son of a mother. Helping women thrive will help families thrive.”
