Dr. Christa Hendley, DAT has been part of the staff at Transylvania University as an Assistant Athletic Trainer since November 2017. She has over 10 years of experience in athletic training within high school and collegiate athletics. She completed her Doctor of Athletic Training degree in May 2020 from the University of Idaho, holds a Master of Science in Athletic Training from East Stroudsburg University in Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Colby-Sawyer College in New Hampshire. Dr. Hendley is an Adjunct Faculty member in the Health and Exercise Science Department at Transylvania, as well as a Part-Time Professor in the Master of Science in Athletic Training Program at the University of Kentucky. Her research interests include using diaphragm activation to treat acute non-specific low back pain, which was a topic accepted for presentation at the Southeast Athletic Trainers' Association in March 2020. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time outside hiking with her dog, Leila.
